Plot outline:
Bokje and Li are exploring the wonders of the forest. Suddenly a big bird lands on Bokje's shoulder.
He claims to be her grandpa. Bokje is frightened by the bird. Li offers 'grandpa' a cigar.
Outsmarted by her gift the bird clears off. Bokje and Li have saved their world.

Conceptual and technical approach:
In this film Harriët van Reek and Conny de Vugt examined and developed a mixed-media animation combining their individual handwriting.
The drawn world of Bokje and Li will be mixed with true-to-life images in order to give the real world more magic and the drawings more credibility.
They are working on a fusion in drawing, manipulated photographs, stop-motion animation and life-action video.

Short bio:
Harriët wrote and illustrated several awardwinning picture books and creates visual theatre in cooperation with Geerten ten Bosch
In this film Harriët puts her illustrations in motion.
Conny is a video artist and animator, producing her own shorts, screened at (international) festivals and group-exhibitions. She also creates video and animation stage-images for opera and theatre performances.
In this film Conny deepens her vision on mixed media animation.
